LAND ROVER: Compositing Breakdown

 

My friend Fran Mendez was making this incredible spec commercial for Land Rover when they told him they couldn't drive cars to the location they had chosen. Not a problem for most of the spot, but the last shot needed to feature the Land Rover next to the actors. The solution: A decent 3D model from Turbo Squid, and a 360º photo.

I used this 360º image (captured with a 360 camera on the actual location) to light the 3D model, and the rest was compositing work.
